What To Expect


You will be at the office about an hour at your first appointment!

Dr. Mistry will review your completed new patient intake forms, discuss your condition’s history with you at length, and perform a physical examination of your head, neck, and jaw.

She will then formulate a preliminary diagnosis and describe the treatment process and estimated length of treatment.

**Please fill out the New Patient Paperwork 48 hours before your exam!**   The office will send the New Patient Paperwork to you by email once you schedule your examination appointment.  If your paperwork is not filled out, your appointment will be canceled.  

Insurance

We ask everyone to pay for the first office visit & all treatment rendered, regardless of medical insurance coverage/plans.

Rarely, if ever, do insurance companies cover TMJ/TMD treatment.

As TMJ/TMD is often a complex and complicated condition, treatment costs and insurance coverage can vary significantly from patient to patient depending on diagnosis, the type of treatment and length of treatment needed. In most cases, getting insurance to pay for treatment can be difficult – if not impossible.

As a result, we have opted-out from participating in insurance programs as we have found their requirements to be a hindrance in helping you get correct care. Instead, we work directly with you to get you out of pain and treat you in the manner you need to be treated – instead of allowing insurance companies to dictate treatment. The pay-off for you is excellent care, when and how you need it with no hidden fees, no premiums and copays and best of all – no surprises!

We also offer a variety of payment options.

We accept all major credit cards, cash, checks, FSA, HSA, and CareCredit.

“TMJ/TMD” is considered a medical condition. Dr. Mistry is qualified to assess and treat that condition and celebrates a 90% success rate with treating TMJ/TMD – this includes the jaw locking closed (Disc Displacement Without Reduction).  We are proud to say that people travel from far and wide to see her and seek her unique care!

If you’d like, we can provide a super bill for your insurance company for you to submit that to your medical insurance.
