I was in so much pain and discomfort before visiting Dr. Mistry - I could barely open my mouth, I could barely eat, and I was in constant pain - but Dr. Mistry was able to zero in on the cause of my symptoms right away, and through the DTR (Disclusion Time Reduction) therapy I received at her practice, I can actually open my mouth again - I can smile, laugh, and eat, all pain free - I cannot recommend Dr. Mistry and her practice enough!

My daughter (5 yrs old) had a significant underbite with her lower teeth being in front of her upper teeth which was a big concern as it would effect her speech, how her teeth would grow and her self confidence, Dr. Kim with Jaw Functional Orthopedics did a through evaluation, and used device to scan her teeth instead of mold since my daughter had a severe gag reflex so that option made the visit for my daughter so much better. Once the device got there he carefully fitted the device to her jaw so it was comfortable (which takes expertise as he had to manually bend and fit the wires to the shape of her jaw so nothing would push into the gums). It has been about 3-4 months and underbite is practically gone and we are very happy with her treatment and most importantly my daughter is very happy that her jaw is going to look beautiful because that is so important for a little girl

I have had years of loud clicking and pain on my right side and experienced an open lock several times, but always managed to resolve it on my own. After taking a bite of food one day, and experiencing blinding pain, I noticed my bite was off, my jaw and ear were extremely sore, and I was having difficulty chewing. After visiting my dentist, who believed I had slipped a disc in my jaw, I was referred to Dr. Mistry. By the time I saw her a few weeks later, my pain and inflammation had become intense and interfered with my ability to do any daily tasks. I couldn’t turn my head, chew food, sleep, work, or drive and it was causing intense muscle spasms down my neck as well as in my face and jaw. In short, I was miserable and unable to live my life. I was so nervous, but the team at the TMJ Doc office is kind, caring and professional. Dr. Mistry is a calming presence, and an amazing doctor, who truly cares for her patients. Over time, with her treatment, I started to improve. Each week I could open my jaw a little bit more and the releases she taught me were so helpful. Once I was ready, she referred me to a PRI therapist and I continued to heal as I was able to receive treatment from them both. Her knowledge and treatment have made such a difference for me! I am forever grateful.
