Estrogen, Relaxin & the Jaw Joint

  • Estrogen protects the jaw joint by maintaining cartilage and bone integrity.
  • Relaxin loosens ligaments and soft tissue — essential during childbirth but can also make the jaw more “loosey-goosey.”
