From Out of Town?
Before Your In-Office Visit:
For potential patients who are not local to our office (we are in Vancouver, Washington – near Portland, Oregon), Dr. Mistry always requires a video consultation. This is to ensure that she feels confident she can help you with your TMJ/TMD before you travel to see us!
Please note that we do video consultations on Mondays and Thursdays only, and you will be placed on the cancellation list if we have a sooner available appointment than the one that is scheduled.
During a video consultation, Dr. Mistry will review your TMJ/TMD history at length. She will ask very specific questions about your symptoms – including having you rate them on a pain scale, type of pain (dull vs. sharp), frequency and severity of pain/discomfort, and more.
After speaking with you, she will provide you with a preliminary diagnosis that she will make based on her considerable experience with treating TMJ/TMD successfully! Dr. Mistry celebrates a 90% success rate with treating TMJ/TMD. She defines “success” as no pain with chewing, speaking, or yawning, a healthy range of motion, no locking/catching joints, and decreased joint noises.
Once your consultation is booked, we ask that you send any reports (MRI, CBCT, etc.) to this email, patientcare@tmjdentaldoc.com, and we will upload the information for you into your chart so Dr. Mistry can review it prior to the appointment.
Additionally, we will be sending you paperwork to fill out. This MUST be filled out 48 hours before your online video consultation so Dr. Mistry has time to review it.
The paperwork takes 15-20 minutes to fill out.

We are located 9 miles North of Portland International Airport (PDX). All major airlines fly into PDX. Due to the proximity to the airport, we have many choices of hotels if you want to stay close to the office.
